Please enjoy the below musical settings of the Exodus text provided:
Israel in Egypt - Baroque Oratorio by George Frideric Handel
Choral masterpiece premiered in London in April 1739. Libretto from the book of Exodus and Psalms. Its lengthy, so skip around as you may. Song at the Sea (Exodus 15) begins at 1:30.
Go Down Moses - Jazz setting of a spiritual song featuring Louis Armstrong
In his hometown, New Orleans, Armstrong earned enough money working for the Karnofsky’s, Lithuanian immigrants, to purchase his first cornet from a pawn shop. Armstrong wore a Star of David given to him by Joe Glaser, his Jewish manager, to honor the memory of the family who helped raise him.
